Full Moon In Pisces, Thursday, September 7, 2006, 2:42 pm EST

FULL MOON in Pisces, 15º 00', Sept. 7, 2006, 2:42pm EST
Partial Lunar Eclipse, 15º 06', 2:51pm EST

Within You, Without You

Summary of sky events this full moon
Vying for your attention on this Full Moon in Pisces is a stellium of planets in Virgo (the healer/mentor)-Venus (love), Sun (personal motivation), Mercury (mind), Mars (action) and the South Node (accrued knowledge)—and on the other side Uranus (the awakener), Moon (intuition), and the North Node (knowledge seeking) in Pisces (the Bodhisattva).(1) We will also be experiencing a partial lunar eclipse, making this a very powerful full moon. Eclipses catalyze our destiny’s deeper calling. Where we find eclipse degrees in the personal birth chart will identify potential release points for this energy (2) depending on the house position where we find Pisces, planets tenanting the house, as well as aspects from Pisces to other planets. Because of the opposition of a large number of planets in Virgo and Pisces, even if you have no planets tenanting the house where Pisces is located in your chart, every one of us is strongly affected by this eclipse.

To access the power and potential of any sign of the zodiac, we must work with the energies and claim the gifts of the opposing sign. (3) If we examine the polarity of energies in Virgo and Pisces for this full moon, we find there is a pull between what we know to be true based on past knowledge/experience and what we have faith is true coming from our intuition, inner knowing, faith in the unknown. We need both kinds of knowing in order to be balanced. Virgo knowing can get lost in the critical details and Pisces knowing can be deceptive in its expansiveness.

Summary Virgo New Moon to Pisces Full Moon; Within you, Without you
The past few weeks we’ve been exploring the Virgo Priestess archetype in our daily lives; owning our energy, containing, directing and focusing it. Her discernment has allowed us to realize the power of choice in every moment. We may have had the experience of knowing we’re choosing for the first time, understanding the power and joy of standing on our own. Many astrology texts talk about the sacrifice inherent in the Virgo archetype; while this may have been true during the Piscean age, the evolved Virgo archetype is no longer victim; she serves from a place of empowerment, rooted in her own energies and process. Because she knows herself so well, she is able to practice impulse control and consider the good of all involved as service. In practicing owning her power, she miraculously sacrifices her attachment to ego, but never herself. She is now ready to bring her focused energy outside of the personal to the transpersonal realm of Pisces.

Pisces represents the oceanic oneness. While Virgo is focused in the Self, Pisces doesn’t differentiate one from the other. It is boundary-less. If there is heavy Pisces or Neptune(Pisces ruler)in the chart, a person will often feel the currents of the collective; there may be a problem discerning what belongs to the self and what belongs to the other. Because the veils are very thin for Pisces, there’s a certain despair and desperation at the more destructive undercurrents in the collective which is often expressed as alcohol or drug abuse, literally a “thirst for Spirit”. The desire to merge with the One, to go back to the comfort of the womb is so strong with Pisces that there's a tendency towards escapism from the physical world. At the same time, there is a very personal understanding of the oceanic oneness and this knowledge brings great faith. The highest octave of water in the zodiac, Pisces is the highest expression of emotion: empathy, loving compassion or Bodhisattva/Christ energy. However, there is a tendency towards self deception with Pisces; since the veils are very thin, which reality do we believe-the dark undercurrents or the bliss of the One-ness? Netpune is very seductive; cloaking his deception in glamour. Evolved Pisces meets evolved Virgo at midpoint: the Virgo Priestess owns her energy, sacrifices her attachment to ego while evolved Pisces brings compassionate understanding of the One to the collective and himself with good boundaries.

My take on this full moon goes something like this: Virgo Priestess has found the power in owning and channeling her energy; in looking steadfastly inward, she loses her ego attachment to self. Her process awakens compassion and deep understanding of the suffering of the collective, and awakens her to the self within the self; in this understanding she meets the One Soul, Atma. The sky events coinciding with this full moon in Pisces support maturation of the knowing process, from empirical to intuitive knowing, balanced at the midpoint, fluid, never staying too long at one pole or the other. Within you, without you. If she goes too far in, she’s called back out to the collective one and if she goes too far out, the details of her personal process bring her back in. This is the personal piece of this full moon energy. I think we’re also being asked to use this understanding to reconcile a serious psychosis of humanity, the mental separation of humanity from nature, to do some serious compassionate mediation on Gaia, Atma. What do you believe about your place in nature? Do you feel you are a cell in the organism of Gaia? If you feel separate from nature, how does this affect your life choices and well being? Do you have faith in the higher knowing of the collective One or do you lose yourself in the critical judgment that happens when you are looking too closely at what you know empirically?

But let’s bring it back in for a moment for the full moon ritual. Personal transformation of belief systems must happen before a collective transformation can happen, so our personal work is the highest act of love and compassion. This full moon ritual we may ask ourselves about our relationship to boundaries and our tendency towards escapism from the difficult undercurrents in the collective we perceive through the veils. We may ask where we allow ourselves to deceive ourselves; where is there weakness for glamour? Jupiter in Scorpio and North Node, Moon and Uranus in Pisces support us to face deep truths about our deceptions with loving compassion. Can you identify a tendency to gravitate towards one polarity or the other (empirical knowing vs intuitive knowing) and does that serve? Is there one belief system that’s begging for readjustment? This is a perfect time to ask for clarity within you.

Peace, love, blessings, Helen

We were talking-about the space between us all
And the people-who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth-then it's far too late-when they pass away.
We were talking-about the love we all could share-when we find it
To try our best to hold it there-with our love
With our love-we could save the world-if they only knew.
Try to realise it's all within yourself
No-one else can make you change
And to see you're really only very small,
And life flows on within you and without you.
We were talking-about the love that's gone so cold and the people,
Who gain the world and lose their soul-
They don't know-they can't see-are you one of them?
When you've seen beyond yourself-then you may find, peace of mind,
Is waiting there-
And the time will come when you see
we're all one, and life flows on within you and without you.
